Casing window milling

There are a lot of mature oil and gas field. Enhancing production and profitability of such assets is always complicated task. Drilling sidetrack hole from cased parent wellbore is one of most drastic solutions to recover production of low flow wells. Equipment for casing exit designed and manufactured by «CITRIN-SERVICE» already proved itself as effective and competitive solution in local and international market.

There is demand of reliable and low-cost sidetrack technology including operation of  «window» cutting in casing and kickoff.

There are 2 options of casing exit that practically in use:

1. Cutting «window» by milling assembly using whipstock system;
2. Full cut of casing section interval and setting cement plug after to perform kickoff.

Sidetrack using Whipstock system

General advantages of Whipstock option are below:

• Precise orientation of whipstock provides initial kickoff direction that improve sidetrack profile control;
• Rotary assembly might be used to drill sidetrack well;
• Reduced amount of metal to be recovered in cutting operation, reduce number of trip in / trip out;
• Cut through several casings (optionally);
• Cut of any casing grade, as well as cut in poor cement intervals.
